Leave is approved based on operational requirements therefore you should not make any bookings or arrangements (airlines, accommodation etc) prior to approval of leave.
A medical certificate is required for sick or carer’s leave of 2 or more days; or if you’re absent any day immediately before or after:
• a weekend;
• a public holiday;
• an annual leave day; or
• a rostered day off.
The medical certificate should state the nature of the illness or incapacity and indicate the period of absence.
Leave applications will generally not be approved:
• if you do not have sufficient leave available; or
• during the peak period of mid-October to the Christmas break.
Leave entitlements for part-time employees is on a pro-rata basis.
Applications for Annual Leave should be made at least 4 weeks prior to commencement of the leave.
Reminder - If you have keys you are responsible for reminding your manager to make appropriate arrangements.
